Unfortunately, we cannot power rake when the ground is wet or its raining as the machine will rip the
lawn out in a very damaging way. We also have to be careful around the fence as that area can take
longer to dry out than the rest of the lawn.

It is best to power rake early in the spring after the snow melts and the lawns have dried out.  This typically occurs in April and will go on until early to mid may.

Power raking is most beneficial for lawns that were think and healthy the year before as they tend to accumulate more thatch over the winter. Thinner lawns tend to accumulate less thatch and benefit less from power raking.

Lawns with lots of thatch will struggle to get water and nutrients to the room system of the grass which will prevent it from being as thick and healthy as it could be. Lawns ideally are power raked every year however thinner lawns can get away with less frequent thatching.

A lot of times once mid may hits grass has greened up substantially it becomes too late to power rake the lawn as the machine does as much damage to existing root systems as good in removing thatch. That is why it is always recommended to get power raking booked and done early in spring.
